My family used to go to Juban's for special occasions because our dining budget didn't allow us more frequent visits. But, about a month ago Juban's began offering 3-Course Prix Fixe specials for lunch ($16) and dinner ($28). That's 3 gourmet courses at one of Louisiana's finest restaurants. And the Prix Fixe selections are out of this world! We found out about them on the Juban's website (Jubans dot com) while searching for info about their Mother's Day brunch. Their website is awesome and includes links to their menus and great photos of the restaurant interior as well as some of their offerings. The service is great and their 25¢ lunch martinis can't be beat. Their wine list is incredible. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Juban's if you'd like a great meal, great service and a great atmosphere.

Had a Wonderful dinner here with my husband & two friends while working in LA, and it was truly fine- the Smoked Duck Gumbo was So good that it inspired my chef husband to create a similar dish for our Inn in West Virginia! Excellent food, lovely, elegant ambience, and all in all a great evening of fine, gourmet dining. Will happily return if I'm lucky enough to get back to Baton Rouge!

I have traveled to Baton Rouge before but tend to eat at The Kingfish as I almost always stay in the Hilton, this time a few locals mentioned this place. I was dissapointed that I wouldn't be dining where we had originally planned (Ruth's Chris) but my mind was soon changed. I thought that the best part of the evening would be the company, and while they were hard to trump, I was mistaken. Juban's location keeps it a hidden wonder. They had an off-menu Mahi special that night and it was sensational. I will admit that the curry sauce was a bit light and left me wanting more of it's flavor but I don't feel as if that took away from the dish at all. My fiance had started a tab at the bar and I offered to get him another drink when he ran low but I never found a moment where I needed to leave my seat as the service was phenominal. I had many questions for the service staff and my waiter was always polite and promptly returned with an answer for the two questions he was unsure about. The mango sorbet was so fantastic I would have enjoyed a larger dish at the end of my meal had it been on the desert menu. If you're in Baton Rouge I HIGHLY reccommend you try Juban's, even if only once!

I would recommend this place for a special occasion of some sort. Definitely not a place you would go on a normal weeknight but it is very romantic and absolutely delicious. I've never had their catering but I've heard people say it's really fresh and tasty.

Juban's restaurant is a hidden jewel of a restaurant that rivals the best in New Orleans. Creole cuisine can be somewhat heavy, but Juban's innovative contemporary Creole dishes are sure to please those who find traditional South Louisiana cooking a bit heavy handed. Seafood abounds on the menu, and the baked Oyster Carousel is a great starter. The Adrian (sauted FRESH Gulf fish lightly graced with green onions and mushrooms, finished with FRESH LUMP crab meat) is exquisite. The Hallejuah Crab, the restaurant's signature dish, is amazingly good for a stuffed soft-shell crab; the presentation is remarkable (and quite fun to see float across the restaurant perched on waiters' trays). For dessert, the bread pudding with a Gran Marnier/Myer's Rum sauce reigns supreme. All portions are extremely generous, and the service is top notch. The wine cellar is quite extensive and well rounded with some great American offerings.
