I have dined here many times with co-workers and family and even though the food is good it is not great. I find the tomato sauce is terrible sweet and its almost like having dessert in a meal, so I usually just have a salad or pasta salad which are fairly good but overpriced. The staff here is mediocre at best. We dined at the louisiana st. location in Shreveport, La. and the restaurant needed a really good dusting and cleaning. The grapes hanging from the ceiling were terribly dusty and dirty along with other deco. in the restaurant. The cleanliness of a restaurant has just as much, if not more, of an appeal as the food and this restaurant Location went thumbs down all the way. The dining experience in its self is fine if you like over sweetned sauce and a very dusty atmosphere but, I feel its overrated.

Best Italian Food in Baton Rouge

The perfect atmosphere for a nice date or a night out with friends. Very friendly hosts, bartenders, and servers. Small, but cozy, beautiful artwork, fun lighting, and quiet relaxing environment. For starters the bread and "sweet" sauce are amazing, and will keep you asking for more. A wide selection of appetizers to pick from, but my recommendation would be the fried ravioli. Lots of good italian dishes, most coming with Monjuni's yummy sauce. The chicken parmesan and the baked ravioli are good. If you like your spaghetti to be sweet... you'll be hooked on this sauce. Dont' bother with the Alfredo though; it's not the best and you'll be missing out by not trying the red sauce. Not too pricey, but big portions- so chances are you'll have enough to eat the next day. There's now a new location on Highland in addition to the Jefferson one.
